Courses

Strong Heart - Weak Heart: Sol’s role in cardiac extremes and their herbal remediation

Judith Hill

A demonstration of astrological medicine.

Observe profound astrological variations of the solar-ruled Vital Force in charts of the stroke and heart attack prone; versus those with tendencies toward heart failure, edema, fatigue and excessively low blood pressure. This is a great way to observe the Sun’s influence at work in real cases.

We will discuss traditional hypothetical remediations for both cardiac extremes (herbs, nutrition, and traditional gemstone prescription).

This talk intends to demonstrate the natal Sun’s constitutional role in “hot” and “cold” cardiac conditions and natal Vital Force quantity and quality. Attendees will gain skill in spotting these tendencies, and comprehend traditional thinking as to their remediation.

Curanderismo & the Living Solar Cycle

Felicia Cocotzin Ruiz

In Mesoamerica, reverence for the Sun spans millennia and continues today honoring the Sun not only as a physical source of life but as a spiritual force, a being, and a marker of sacred time. Come gather in virtual sacred space to honor Grandfather Sun—the great heart of the sky—and the ceremonies that arise in rhythm with its path. In this plática-style session, we enter into a deeper relationship with the solar cycle as it lives in curanderismo and ancestral Mexican traditions.

This is a space for remembering the body's connection to the turning of the seasons, and the way ritual helps us move through cycles of growth, rest, release, and rebirth. We explore how ceremonies connected to the Sun are woven with land, lineage, and presence—sometimes with plants, sometimes with prayer, always with intention.

Flower Essences for AstroDreamwork

Stephanie Gailing

While dreams and astrology are both vehicles for potent self-awareness, together they work synergistically to allow us to discover an even deeper level of understanding and wisdom.

Astrology can help us access and translate the meaning of our dreams, while our oneiric visions offer us insights that further reveal the fount of self-knowledge potentiated within our astrology charts and the current zeitgeist.

In this talk, we will explore ways to weave astrology and dreamwork together as well as discuss flower essences that inspire both sleep and dreams.

Supporting Female Lunar Cycle with TCM Food Therapy

Zoey Xinyi Gong

Align your body with the rhythms of nature!

In this TCM workshop with food therapist Zoey Gong, discover how to nourish each phase of your menstrual cycle using Traditional Chinese Medicine food therapy. Learn which foods harmonize with the moon's energies—yin-nourishing foods for the new moon, blood-building meals for the full moon, and Qi-moving recipes for transitions.

We'll explore how TCM links menstrual health to lunar cycles and share practical, delicious ways to balance hormones, ease PMS, and enhance vitality.

The Triune Classification of Venus

Sajah Popham

From the perspective of herbalism, Rose and Cleavers don’t have much in common at all. But from an astro-herbalism perspective, they are both ruled by Venus. Yet the way Rose operates on Venus is quite distinct from Cleavers. This class explores the application of William LeSassier’s triune classification system of herbs to planetary correspondences, using Venus as an example.

The purpose of which is to get more specific at defining how plants embody and influence planetary qualities for a more refined system of classification. We’ll cover the nature of Venus builders, neutrals and eliminators alongside specific plant examples.

Elemental Intelligence: Where Ayurveda Meets Astrology

Nidhi Pandya

This session explores the intersection of Ayurveda and astrology, examining how the cycles of the moon, sun, and zodiac mirror the body's internal rhythms.

Topics include perimenopause and the shifting doshic landscape with age—particularly the rise of Vata—as well as seasonal and elemental balancing through diet, lifestyle, and lunar awareness.

Drawing from Ayurvedic principles, the talk will offer insight into aligning with nature's cycles for hormonal harmony, emotional resilience, and sustainable wellbeing throughout life's transitions.

Practical Remediation: astrological finding and fixing

Marcos Patchett

Astrology provides insight into the nature and causes of problems, but traditionally it was used to find solutions to those problems as well.

Drawing from Renaissance and medieval prescribing traditions, we can combine the best of ancient and contemporary technologies to develop practical strategies for upgrading our lives.

Conference History

Judith Hill introduced the North American Continent to the first medical astrology-herbalism Conferences (as far as we know) in 1992. Her later in-person “Lost Secrets of Renaissance Medicine” conferences (2013-2016) sold out each year and presented a dedicated conflation of herbalism with medical astrology. These wildly popular events sparked a flame that raced through the global astro-herbal community and continues to grow to this day!

In 2024, Melissa Behm, the Director of Judith’s ‘Academy for Astrological Medicine’, suggested a modernized, virtual resurrection of those popular Renaissance Medicine conferences and Judith enthusiastically agreed! Melissa worked in corporate pharmaceuticals in several different roles over the span of 15 years until she quit in 2022 to pursue Herbalism and Astrology full-time; she joined Judith’s team in 2023. Having coordinated several Global Town Halls in the past, and being an herbalist and astrologer herself, Melissa will be organizing this year’s event with Judith’s guidance. They are a perfect team!

Adriana Ayales

Rainforest herbalist, medicine maker, educator, and Anima Mundi Herbals founder Adriana Ayales moved to Brooklyn from her home in Costa Rica with a mission to bridge remedies from the native peoples of Central and South America with modern day needs and imbalances. From a young age, Adriana devoted her studies to shamanic style healing, hands-on energy work, and botanical inquiry.

Born with intuitive sight, she recalls seeing auras and spirits when she was a small child, not knowing what to do with this power or how to talk to her family about it. Later, she learned to cultivate it and trained with psychics and healers that helped convert this energy into a healing art she could apply to this world.

As an adult, Adriana studied several healing traditions extensively alongside master herbalists and shamans for over 13 years. Her vision is to continuously create a farm-to-pharmacy experience that not only creates a sustainable system of healing, but contains within its core the pursuit to wholeness.

She is devoted to sourcing from honest farmers, wildcrafters and from indigenous peoples when possible, to alchemize and create truly high vibrational medicines for the mind, body, and soul. Adriana believes that by preserving ancient forms of indigenous botany, we keep alive a very sacred aspect to our source.
