Academy for Astrological Medicine

Judith Hill's Academy For Astrological Medicine™ presents this twelve-part medical astrology course.

Students can begin anytime they wish and proceed at their own pace. Students will be required to obtain a handful of essential texts, complete fascinating homework assignments, and test themselves in preparation for a chart analysis to be completed at closure. Students will be working in Classical Western Astrology: Ancient Greek, Renaissance, and modern techniques with input from the Vedic system of gem remedials (“Upaye”). An optional Certificate Exam is available upon completion (extra fee). This is a self-study course for the independent student. There is no instructor involvement. Paid certificate students will receive instructor commentary on their exams.

This class also includes an introductory 3-hour Primer that provides an in-depth overview of the entire field, and basic techniques too. This course offers the students of all courses an introductory guide to how medical astrology works (chakras), planets, signs, the eight branches, etc, and some easy techniques). It is highly recommended that students of Medical Astrology 101 begin here, especially for the helpful visuals!

WELCOME TO THE EXCITING WORLD OF MEDICAL ASTROLOGY

This course, developed by the accomplished medical astrologer Judith Hill, is designed for the independent student whose aim is to acquire a useful foundation in the science and art of reading the Planetary Health Chart.

The ideal student for this course possesses adequate mental focus and stability, loves to study, has good memorization skills, is capable of self-test, and is willing to devote at least two hours weekly to reading and thinking about Medical Astrology.

Prerequisites:

• Be able to recognize the astrological symbols for the planets, lunar nodes, and the twelve signs.
• Be familiar with the twelve houses and their general meaning.
• The last two modules require that you know the difference between a birth chart and a current transit to the birth chart (i.e. “what is a transit?”).
• The last two modules will be easier for students who already know how to read and use a basic ephemeris for daily planetary positions.
• Solid knowledge of beginning astrology is required to understand this material. Intermediate astrologers will, of course, perform best, but a dedicated and intelligent beginning student may follow the lesson plan well if they will put in focused time and supplement their learning with additional basic astrology materials.

• The Encyclopedia of Medical Astrology, H.L. Cornell, M.D. *“Cornell’s Encyclopedia of Medical Astrology" comes in both complete or split volumes. Be sure to purchase A-Z (all letters inclusive). Used versions are fine. Good publishers: "Llewellyn Publications”, "Astrology Classics", "The Astrology Center of America. Others.”
• Monthly Astrological Planner for the current year (e.g. Llewellyn's, Honeycomb)
• Journal for notes and chart collection
• {Optional} Gray’s Anatomy Coloring Book (or similar anatomy coloring book)

Your chart collection:

The best students start chart collections. Students are encouraged to have at least three charts in their collection at course onset (your own chart counts). Anyone you know who is willing to provide you with their sacred birth data becomes your case study. This is the best possible way to learn medical astrology. For each lesson, compare the planet or element studied with its placement in the chart of your own chart samples.

Collect, collect, collect! There are also published chart collections of famous persons that are useful if you have access to their health history or cause of death.

Suggested Collections: Lois Rodden’s The American Book of Charts, and Max Heindel’s Astro-Diagnosis. AstroDataBank is also a great resource for chart data online.

Downloadable Materials:

Downloadable support materials are included with each lesson. Once one lesson has been completed, the next lesson can be accessed.

Certificate of Course Completion

Once you have completed the Level 1 course ‘Medical Astrology 101’ (either Ala Carte, or as part of our Level 1 Bundle), you can optionally request a downloadable Certificate by email.

This certificate states exclusively that you have taken the course, but does not describe or ascertain your skills obtained (because you have not been examined).

If you have completed the course ‘Medical Astrology 101’, and would like to receive our “Medical Astrology 101 Certificate of Course Completion”, please email or send us your completed “self-tests” for each module of that course. These will not be examined unless you take the Master Exam (more details on the Master Exam below). We only need to see them to ascertain that you did work your way through the course modules. All questions must be answered in your self-tests.
