Adriana Ayales

Rainforest herbalist, medicine maker, educator, and Anima Mundi Herbals founder Adriana Ayales moved to Brooklyn from her home in Costa Rica with a mission to bridge remedies from the native peoples of Central and South America with modern day needs and imbalances. From a young age, Adriana devoted her studies to shamanic style healing, hands-on energy work, and botanical inquiry.

Born with intuitive sight, she recalls seeing auras and spirits when she was a small child, not knowing what to do with this power or how to talk to her family about it. Later, she learned to cultivate it and trained with psychics and healers that helped convert this energy into a healing art she could apply to this world.

As an adult, Adriana studied several healing traditions extensively alongside master herbalists and shamans for over 13 years. Her vision is to continuously create a farm-to-pharmacy experience that not only creates a sustainable system of healing, but contains within its core the pursuit to wholeness.

She is devoted to sourcing from honest farmers, wildcrafters and from indigenous peoples when possible, to alchemize and create truly high vibrational medicines for the mind, body, and soul. Adriana believes that by preserving ancient forms of indigenous botany, we keep alive a very sacred aspect to our source.

Assess, Enhance and Balance Constitutional Vitality Using Natal Astrology

Robert Weinstein

In traditional Astrological Medicine, the Sun is regarded as the fountain of life. Its placement in the natal chart describes the quantity and quality of the “Native’s” Vital Force.

In this talk, we will assess the inherent constitutional vitality of the client through their natal chart, primarily looking at the placement of the Sun by sign, house and aspect, as well as elemental balance.

By considering these factors we can select herbal remedies that help enhance the client’s vitality and vital force.

Celestial Harvesting: Planetary Patterns in Spagyrics

Sajah Popham

The astrological patterns have a diverse range of applications in the sphere of herbal medicine, from holistic assessment, formulation and therapeutics, to harvesting and pharmacy.

Spagyrics—or traditional plant-based alchemy— is commonly misunderstood as merely putting plant ash back into tinctures, but the true application of alchemical philosophy to herbalism goes much deeper.

This class will explore the four primary ways the planetary pattern influences the practice of true spagyrics, both in the pharmacy and the clinic, to generate the most holistic form of clinical herbal practice.

Learn about common approaches with herbal teas and other remedies to soothe the gut and bring the body back into balance. In these cold, dry months, our gentle warming and moistening teas are particularly welcome.

Finding the Root of Illness Utilizing Natal Astrology

Cameron Allen

As herbalists, we have the tools to see what the person's current constitutional state is utilizing holistic evaluation approaches.

One thing that many herbalists find more difficult is understanding the root constitution.

Using the Natal chart, which was called the "Radix" meaning "root", we can find where the underlying pattern originated in order to see how illness has fully blossomed in the present moment.

Through this lens, we can become more mindful and precise in how we choose our herbal remedies through a holistic understanding.

The Herbal Remediation of the ‘Shani Sade Sati’ Life Period in Medical Astrology: A Demonstration of Astrological Herbalism for Natal Moon Affliction

Judith Hill

The famous ‘Shani Sade Sati’ life period is traditionally noted as one of life’s most trying times for personal physical and/or mental health, especially when culminating. This seven-and-a-half- year period is caused by transiting Saturn’s proximity to the natal (birth) Moon.

Astrological Herbalism offers fascinating methods to remediate this experience. These same antidotes are equally useful for all other “hard” aspects of Saturn to the natal Moon. The practitioner must first assess the temperature and moisture potential of that natal Moon!

Judith will demonstrate a practical method accessible to herbalists and astrologers of all levels.

Herbs and Herbal Energetics from Culpeper to Davidson

Matthew Wood

A practical talk about some of our most useful herbs and their energetics, from Nicholas Culpeper (1652) to William Davidson (c. 1960). The four qualities (hot, cold, damp, dry) of the Greeks (from Culpeper's "Method of Galen's Physick"), the planetary energetics, the oxidation/sub-oxidation of doctor Davidson, and sometimes just plain interesting stuff.

Conference History

Judith Hill introduced the North American Continent to the first medical astrology-herbalism Conferences (as far as we know) in 1992. Her later in-person “Lost Secrets of Renaissance Medicine” conferences (2013-2016) sold out each year and presented a dedicated conflation of herbalism with medical astrology. These wildly popular events sparked a flame that raced through the global astro-herbal community and continues to grow to this day!

In 2024, Melissa Behm, the Director of Judith’s ‘Academy for Astrological Medicine’, suggested a modernized, virtual resurrection of those popular Renaissance Medicine conferences and Judith enthusiastically agreed! Melissa worked in corporate pharmaceuticals in several different roles over the span of 15 years until she quit in 2022 to pursue Herbalism and Astrology full-time; she joined Judith’s team in 2023. Having coordinated several Global Town Halls in the past, and being an herbalist and astrologer herself, Melissa will be organizing this year’s event with Judith’s guidance. They are a perfect team!
