Class 2: "Red" Conditions: Hyperactivity, ADHD, Panic, Mania, Bi-polar, Temper Management Disorder

Mars gives courage and energy, but what happens when this planet’s influx becomes excessive? What signs and aspects are “red” enough to cause panic attacks? How is hyperactivity astrologically different than ADHD? What karmic conditions contribute to mysteriously arising panic attacks? Chart examples include Scarlet Johansson, Mickey Rooney, Jimmie Hendrix, and Pete Rose.

Competencies:

1. Learn to identify an excessively “hot” intrinsic state in an individual birth chart.
2. Learn to identify various conditions of the planet Mars in the birth chart that might lead to temper management disorders, mania, or hyperactivity.
3. Assess the twelve different styles of Mars (as reflective of both the motive for and twelve distinctive individual fight/flight (or freeze) responses.
4. Learn to recognize astrological chart “signatures” typical of panic disorder, temper management disorders, hyperactivity, and mania.
5. Recognize the difference between “cold, wet” charts, “cold, dry” charts, and “hot, dry” charts
6. Comprehend the reasoning behind traditional remedial approaches (this list will be fleshed out more in Classes 3-6)

Class 3: The Astrology of Autism

Learn Judith’s unique theory of autism, based on the study of several fascinating birth charts. What do these charts have in common? 

Competencies

1. Using the natal chart, learn to recognize several functional contributions to autism including:
   • excess sensory stimulation with inadequate, or scrambled "filter"
   • blocked sensory data
   • sensory reception disconnection from external sensory input
   • potential supernatural interference and the "thin veil".
2. Assessment of physical vs "spiritual"  etiologies.
3. Learn to recognize "disconnection", or "aversion" in the natal chart between:
   • two halves of the brain
   • rational mind versus memory
   • conscious thought versus feeling response
   • mind and current, consensus reality
   • feeling, and current consensus reality.
4. Identify three centers of "self" in the horoscope and learn to assess the strength of self-awareness (and how this might relate to the autism spectrum).
5. Assess the birth chart's personal commander ( i.e. the traditional "ruler", or "helmsperson"), understand how this planet may contribute to autism spectrum, and why.

5. Consider various possible routes and reasons for manifesting disassociating personalities.
6. Learn and compare modern views of MPD/DID causation and goal of cure versus ancient models.

What astrological patterns signify a heightened porousness between the conscious and subconscious minds? Or, between this plane of existence and “the other side”. What are traditional methods for assessing the possibility of supernatural etiology? This last class is invaluable for understanding the lost etiologies of the Renaissance.
