The natal chart offers one of the earliest maps of the human mental - emotional - spiritual anatomy. How do these layers of consciousness communicate, or conversely, disassociate.

The knowledge of planetary transits stimulating health crises offers the student a further jewel to this crown! Although highly influential to Jung’s seminal work, (and many practitioners following), “astro-psychology” is, in fact, ancient. We discover a complex understanding of mental and emotional “qualities” and their extreme states, in Ptolemy’s Tetrobiblios, 140 CE.

"Red" Conditions: Hyperactivity, ADHD, Panic, Mania, Bi-polar, Temper Management Disorder

Mars gives courage and energy, but what happens when this planet’s influx becomes excessive? What signs and aspects are “red” enough to cause panic attacks? How is hyperactivity astrologically different than ADHD? What karmic conditions contribute to mysteriously arising panic attacks?

Several chart examples include Scarlet Johansson, Mickey Rooney, Jimmie Hendrix, and Pete Rose.

Competencies:

  1. Learn to identify an excessively “hot” intrinsic state in an individual birth chart.
  2. Learn to identify various conditions of the planet Mars in the birth chart that might lead to temper management disorders, mania, or hyperactivity.
  3. Assess the twelve different styles of Mars (as reflective of both the motive for and twelve distinctive individual fight/flight (or freeze) responses.
  4. Learn to recognize astrological chart “signatures” typical of panic disorder, temper management disorders, hyperactivity, and mania.
  5. Recognize the difference between “cold, wet” charts, “cold, dry” charts, and “hot, dry” charts
  6. Comprehend the reasoning behind traditional remedial approaches (this list will be fleshed out more in Classes 3-6)
